What is Translatious?

Translatious is a collaborative web application for the purpose of mediating translation projects for the layperson. Currently, professional translators are too high priced for common person and automated translators like Altavista's(R) Babelfish usually produce incoherant messages. We aim to fill this middle ground and provide inexpensive yet useful translations by connecting multilingual people with people who have text that they wish to have translated and providing a means of verifying the accuracy of translations.

The Translatious project is part of a class assignment for Computer Science 460 (Software Engineering) at the University of New Mexico.
